I have heard they are bad for you, is it true?

No, they are really good for you. They contain a large quantity of fat, but the kind that is essential for our well being, and plenty of vitamins (especially Vit. E) and minerals...Just don't eat the fried and salty kind... I usually sprinkle a spoon of raw seeds over my pasta or salad dishes.

Seeds in general are really good for you. Sunflower oil is really good for (plant oils are really healthy until cooked). I've heard that if you eat them with the shell on they can damage your digestive tract (so take the shell off). If salt is the concern you can also get unsalted seeds.
I've never heard that sunflower seeds were bad for you. I ate nothing but for a month last year and was fine. If they are bad for you they are certainly not as bad as many other things people eat.

Sunflower & Pumpkin seeds are very good for you.
Good Iron, Fiber & Protien content

I not sure. I just eat them and enjoy. Maybe people think they have too much salt. I figure I going to die some day, I at least going to eat what I want before I die. ;-)

nope they aren't bad for you.i eat them all the time and i haven't died from them.
