...beliefs????

It's only fair. If we 'unofficially' recognize one religion through our laws, then we should recognize them all.

The way I see it is that a homosexual person serves in the armed forces, pays their taxes and abide's by the laws (with the exception to some that care not to follow the rules) just like a heterosexual. Regardless of sexual orientation they are all still American Citizens. So how is it my place or yours to say its wrong and take away a civil liberty of choosing a spouse?

But back to the point, if we honestly lived in the words of the bible - there would be slaves, there would be no divorce but husbands would have the free will to beat their wives (as long as they still lived mind you).

Times change, so does congress. Obviously the bible hasn't.

I see the point, but if you're going to ban beef then maybe pork as well? Out of respect for the Jewish people? There are probably quite a few others but I can't think of any off the top of my head. Lots of stuff would be banned and everyone would move to canada and instead and still have to put up with samesex marriage.

If you really look at this situation, it is really about money, not the couple. Think of how many more family plans companies will have to insure if the relationship is bonded by marriage.
Otherwise, states organizations would be the first to acknowledge and bless the marriage, not fight it.

Oh man, you got some really funny ones here!
"I didn't know that gay was a religion."
But then I just fell off the turnip truck, and bumped my head really hard. LOL!

My religion/spiritual beliefs aren't offended by same sex unions. I see marriage as a commitment between 2 people.
Blessed Be.....

That is a great point
if we unofficially recognize christianity
we must do it for all religion.
This is why I think most politicians are full of crap.
They say they are for seperation of church and state when they are only furthering the Christian agenda

Look up marriage - it's definition is the union of a man and a woman. Has nothing to do with religion, hating gays, etc. People just like to think so to get their blood pumping

You have it backwards. Instead of outlawing more things we should be demanding no laws against gay marriage.

If you would refresh your knowledge, you would recall there is the freedom to practice religion in this country.. That means any religion.. We don't need to practice their religious beliefs however.
