I have a lot of fun with it. It has no effect whatsoever on my spirituality. It's make-believe, like reading a book or watching a movie. It has never harmed me or any of my friends, but as with any activity, a person can be hurt if they take it too seriously.
Case in point: My dad used to play D&D with some friends when he was in the Navy. One guy's character was killed. The guy was so distraught over it that he went and committed suicide. I don't believe it was the game's fault. It's just a game. The guy probably would have committed suicide if he had been reading a book and his favorite character was killed. He was unstable and shouldn't have been playing anyway.
I've had characters that have been killed and it hasn't phased me at all. In D&D, a character's death is not something that has to permanent. Unless the DM (Dungeon Master; he or she is the one that controls the game) is a rigid rules-nazi, that is. If that's the case, it's best to find another group to play with.

It has not had a negative affect on my spirituality. It is a game. I used to play it for hours on end. I'm older now and don't have the time to play anymore. D&D will have negative affects on some people. But then again some people are negatively by Superman and don't need to be watching it. It's not the place of the game manufactuer to be responsible for the idiots that might play the game and not be able to tell fantasy from reality. It is the job of parents to raise their kids and teach them well.
peace.

Spirituality? Nah. My spirituality is more influenced by the game series Xenosaga; collective unconscious theory biznitches!
Dungeons and Dragons is just something to help me get in contact with my inner control freak (I tend to be the DM). It also lets me express my creative side, despite that I tend to suck at all things artistic.

The game was a little too intense for me because I do not have a vivid imagination. My ex-boyfriend loved to play this game and could do it for hours. He really seemed to like it and enjoyed playing it and so did his friend. However, I think you have to really like this game because there are so many rules and it is not easy for a first time player without doing a little bit of research.
Also, not to be judgmental of my ex, but it seemed that all he cared about was playing this game and several others of similar variety. Like anything, the Internet, alcohol, caffeine soda, etc, partaking of one thing too much can be harmful

Not at all. It's actually very fun and remember; it's make believe! It has nothing what so ever to do with spirituality or faith. Just have fun with it!! "I'm a 10th level Vice President" Al Gore on Futurama!!!

D&D encourages creativity, imagination, language and math skills, teamwork and socialization, among other things.
I think they should teach D&D in schools, but since they never will because of the religious paranoia surrounding the game, I think that if you don't like the game, don't play--otherwise ignore itl.

I think it is Satanic! The spells are real and it only leads to DEVIL WORSHIP! Just kidding. I think it can become a bit of an obsessive pursuit, but it's fine in moderation and has nothing to do with ones spirituality.

Actually, my spirituality has affected our game: I started a trend of wearing a cape to sessions. ^^

As far as I'm concerned it's only a game. Unless you take it to serious. And no it doesn't affect me spirtuality in any way.

hell yes (no pun intended)
The interest in this game does open up a doorway to the demonic realm. Its a guiding post to an unhealthy spiritual life.
the devil uses subtle mediums such as this to invite people to take more interests in him, and his kingdom of darkness which is a real and existing realm that you cannot see with your eyes.
Just because you cannot see something, does not mean it does not exist.
The inspiration and ideas for Dungeons and dragons did not originate from the mind of man my friend.
Hope this helps
