If this god of yours is so great, why am I convinced more and more everyday at him being a complete fable and fraud because I have something that's been described as "a doctor's worst nightmare" and without any cure whatsoever?

If anything, being stuck with this horrible disease is what pushed me towards Atheism to begin with. I prayed and prayed, but not a ******* thing happened. Still, nothing can be done. What kind of tyrant would do such a thing to a person? Why would this omnipotent creature even create it to begin with?

I can't see how you can sit there and tell me with a straight face that if this god of yours were real, he loves me and did it out of love and/or whatever. If he is real, he's nothing but a tyrant and I don't see how anyone can say otherwise, nor even consider worshipping such a monster. There isn't anything that can be gained from this, if he were real and loving, instead of fake or a tyrant, he'd make it go away.

KC Superstar,

That's nothing but propaganda used in an attempt to get people to look past their problems on Earth and think that this god of yours really does love them and will give them cures, happiness, or whatever once they die if they're good little people and worship him.

It's a lie and anybody with half a brain can figure that out.

daniel.foster,

You're just making excuses. The bible even says if any two people ask for it in the name of the lord, it will be so.

Great lies and false hope you got there.

lady 4jc,

I was a big and faithful christian for years and years. Prayed my heart out. Do you know where that got me?

Nowhere with a cure. I'll believe in this god of yours and all his alleged love if I wake up tomorrow and my problem is gone.

Colin C,

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?"

I empathize with your condition, but God is no respector of persons. Habakkuk asked God essentially some of those same questions. Why do the wicked prosper and the righteous suffer? It doesn't get any simpler than "when Adam and Eve disobeyed, sin, disease and death entered into the world." Believers and non-believers alike are going to get horrible diseases, the real challenge you are facing isn't why God gave you this disease or why He won't cure you. The real challenge is how are you going to react to God allowing this into your life? Blame Him? Nah, blame Adam and Eve if you want to blame anyone. You can turn this around into something that you can find incredible peace, comfort and joy in despite the tribulation or you can turn your back on Him. Think of the testimony you could have if, DESPITE your disease you remained steadfast. That is true faith my friend, not just when everything is coming up roses and going your way but when the rubber meets the road and God gives you a big fat hairy challenge. Its easy to have faith when all is going well but when a wrench gets thrown in, that's the real test. Think of it like God telling you, This is the Emergency Faith Broadcast System. This is a test, it is only a test......Do you run around screaming, ranting and raving at God or do you calmly accept the fact that this is a test? If this disease is incurable, ok, you have the facts of it. What are you going to do with the time you have left? Be a miserable whiner blaming God or a powerful witness to the power He can have in your life despite adversity?

Sorry but what I'm hearing is that you want God to be a vending machine, say the right words and out comes a blessing. And you've been popping quarters into that machine for so long and have gotten so mad at that vending machine that you're walking away without even realizing that's not what this is all about. You don't deserve the soda inside, it's not yours to take, or negotiate, or even borrow for a while! Your faith must be given to you. Unfortunately I think you're finding out the hard way that God predestined and loves His own. We all have a natural inclination against the Creator of the Universe -- except for His grace and His Spirit living within us. BTW consider this an invitation into His family -- from another sinner that believes what Jesus has done and that He is God's Son.

I am really sorry you are so angry. Really.

Sometimes things happen and there are no answers or explanations.
My question to you is, if you were rich, healthy and all those great things would you worship him then?

Please understand. I am not mocking you are trying to be insulting, however, if you did not have a disease would you be on my side?

I have lost loved ones to diseases, My father for one, I never met him but got to know him over the phone in a 3 year time period. The story behind that would take to long.
My point is, he died suddenly of Cancer in every part of his body. I NEVER got to met him, mostly financial reasons that I wish I could have changed but did I blame God? no.....
There must have been a reason that I may or may not be meant to know, regardless, I am grateful for the time I had.

Maybe you should think of the things you have and the things in your life that have changed for the good and then maybe you will understand. Maybe the disease will not go away but you might find peace.
You are in my prayers and I am very sorry.

Really and honestly, if you were a Christian then you know that what you lacked was FAITH.
with out it , what do you expect?

I am a Christian who does NOT believe God is in control of all things. I do not believe God gave you the disease you have. Nor do I believe he gave my daughter the breathing condition that led her to spend 3 months in the hospital earlier this year.

During my struggles over this past year, I found God was present, giving me a peaceful place to rest, and strength to carry on the fight. I'm sorry you are suffering, and all I can say is I wish you the best. I know that the God I believe in loves you very much, and will be with you no matter what the future brings.

peace to you and your family

there is no one that could give you a answer that is going to make you feel better. I can tell you that a relationship with God is not based on getting or not getting. Bad things happen no matter what faith you are. You can walk this without God and be miserable or you can walk this with God and be touched but not burned by it. It is possible to be in the worse of possible situations and find a peace and happiness from God. Accept or don't accept Him. It will only be your loss and no one elses. Or you can try it His way and find something far beyond what your mind can fathom. He is closest to those in great needs. My greatest moments with God was at my lowest points in life.

First of all,I'm very sorry that you are suffering from this disease, whatever it is.Second,I suspect that you aren't going to be very interested in listening because you are obviously letting off some steam. But here is my take on it:God created the world as perfect. However, when the first human disobeyed God,sin entered and marred the perfect world that God had created. This is why we have these problems today.God hasn't done anything to you,He has allowed the world to continue on it's course, and your condition is just a flow-on from this.Speaking as someone whose sister had a terminal illness,I understand what you are going through as my family wresteled with this question also.

do you think God is some genie that pops up and grants wishes?
He isn't. I am sorry you are ill but you are not special in that regard--believers and nonbelievers alike get sick, have diseases-- Some recover and some don't. Having faith in a higher power does not mean what you seem to think-that those of faith never suffer--we do-but we do get comfort from our relationship and knowledge of God.
God is not at my beck and call-nor is he at yours. He does things in his own time and in his own way.
Can you not be grateful for the life you have had and the gifts you have been given?

its a fallen world

Have u read this?

2 Corinthians 12:7-10
even though I have received wonderful revelations from God. But to keep me from getting puffed up, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from getting proud.Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, "My gracious favor is all you need. My power works best in your weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may work through me. Since I know it is all for Christ's good, I am quite content with my weaknesses and with insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

my heart goes out to you, it truly does. however, i ask that you take a deep look into your heart and ask yourself "do i REALLY believe that God caused this, or is He just the easiest one to blame?" harden not your heart, open up and let the glory of God shine. instead of focusing on the negatives, what about the positives in your life? arent you glad that you wake up to another day? God is granting you the gift of another day each day, so dont take it for granted: use it to praise Him and thank Him for it. what about all the people that still love you and support you through this troubling time? thank God that they are there for you. let Jesus take your burden. but you have to let Him! open up to HIm and He can do anything. love the Lord with all your heart, all your mind, and all your soul, that is the greatest commandment of all as said by Jesus Christ. Best of luck to you, and may God Bless.

Your Brother in Christ
