I have to do a paper on the history of Alsace-Lorraine...how do you say "Holy Roman Empire" in French?? Thanks!

It would be Saint Empire romain germanique.

Hi,
I'm pretty sure that it is "Saint Empire romain germanique". As you guessed, the adjective "germanique" refers to Germany.

I've never heard the first proposition and the second is of course wrong.
