A SALVAGE title is given when the damage exceeds the value of the vehicle,whatever the damage may be.You can't licnse it until it is inspected and you show reciepts for parts and or labor,At this time,a REBUILT title is issued.

If you have an old car, get into a very MINOR accident (meaning paint job work and minor fender bender) and the insurance company decides it costs more to repair than what the car is worth. They'll consider it totalled and salvage.

Applying for a salvage title. If the car is later put back on the road, it gets a reconstructed title.

the insurance decides if they want to fix your car or if its better to give you the blue book value. i crashed my car and the insurance said it was going to be too much to fix and labeled it salvaged they gave me money but i bought my car back and fixed it myself its running perfect the only thing about salvaged cars is that the airbags aren't good any more thats what de-values the car the most.

Very high milage. Transmission or engine broken. Vehicle wrecked, frame broken or bent. Just a couple of reasons.

Yes it means that an insurance company totaled it and someone fixed it back up.
