No; it's just a reflex, like your knee kicking when the doctor hits it with that little hammer.
You can't lick your own elbow, either.
(You just tried to, didn't you?)

No. Blinking the eyes when you sneeze is a natural reflex, but you are at no risk of having your eyes pop out due to the pressure. If you were able to keep your eyes open, it would not cause any harm. I've seen people (very rarely...okay, only ONE person) who can keep their eyes open while sneezing.

No. Someone told me that it is impossible to sneeze with your eyes open. So, I tried really hard to keep my eyes open during a sneeze and was successful. My eyes did not pop out.
I don't know why. Maybe the same reason your eyes close during an orgasm - it just feels too damn good to be distracted by anything you see.

I don't know about that, but when I sneeze, if I hold my nose, I blow my shoes off...
Okay, really, it's an involuntary response to the irritant that made you sneeze. The whole pressure thing is a myth.

Sneezing can generate a lot of power(up to 100 m.p.h.), but not enough to make your eyes pop out of your cranium. I've sneezed a lot with my eyes open. No problems.

No thats just a reaction, but i did ask my girlfriend why she always crosses her legs when she sneezed, she told me it,s to prevent her tampon from popping out. It,s a strange world we live in.

yes it is true the reason your eyes shut automatically is to stop them from coming out as a sneeze has a lot of preshure behind it it also stops germs and dust and any rubish getting into your eyes

This is because when we sneeze, we're using the same muscle that makes us close our eyes. Beakman taught me that when i was a kid, and much later i could prove it was true. But, no, tho even you could keep your eyes open, which is impossible, your eyes wouldn't pop out....... too often.

As far as I have read this is totally true. It should also be noted that trying to hold your eyelids open when you sneeze is extremely dangerous!
