Does that say anything about humanity, or does it say something about the nature of this being called Satan? (maybe satan isn't powerful or even a real being)??

Many people experience this degradation, torture, and disrespect. Jesus went through it so we can relate to him when people hurt us as well. He can relate to our suffering because of what he went through.

Actually it says quite a bit about God. In reading the old testament it become clear what what was supposed to happen (not that I am saying that I could make an intepretation any better than they would have in biblical times, but I digress). A completely pure sacrifice was required in order to "pay" for our sins. God did that to Jesus. It was not done by humans or Satan. All it says about humanity is that we are sinners who needed someone to intercede on our behalf. This was the function of the jewish priests. Jesus filled both the roles of priest and sacrifice.

And now for my disclaimer: I am not a pastor. I am not making any judgement about anyone here. I do not intend offense, I am merely attempting to answer the question in a way which makes sense to me.

satan is real - he has methods and schemes-Christians are in a spiritual battle with him.

Jesus came to pay the penalty for our sins. Why? Because that is how much God loved us, He gave His only son to shed His precious blood on the cross to that we could have salvation.

Jesus says of satan - "he was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him, Whenever he speaks he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he a liar and the father of lies." John 8:44

Read and study the bible. Ask questions and check answers against the Word of God.
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil." Ephesians 6:11

i think you should be a bit more clear in asking your question.. if what i think youre asking is correct, ( that because Jesus overcame the temptations put forth by Satan, and yet was killed by man?) then my answer to you would be that, Satan's intention was not to kill Jesus, but to make Him submit to his *satan's* power. he wanted Jesus to bow down and worship him. he gave Jesus the options of the city and bread when He was hungry, but Jesus rebuttled with words of wisdom from scripture, turning Satan down entirely. Jesus, however, was killed by man so that the scriptures may be fulfilled and that the sin of man may be lifted from us and that we are forgiven. by His sacrifice are we saved, and there is no greater love than this. Satan is most definitely real, just turn on the news for ten minutes and you'll see the terrible things that have been influenced by Satan everyday. as far as how powerful he is, thats a bit relative.. to some people in this world, he is very powerful and takes complete control over them. to others, he is not quite as powerful, as they are able to resist his temptations and look to Jesus for strength, comfort, and hope, driving Satan out of their lives. one more point is that the people who condemned Jesus did so because of Satan's influence and power over them. it was certainly not man alone.

Satan did have a lot of power (OT), but he still could not and cannot tempt or have Dominion over mankind due to our free will and the Father Protecting us, Satan and GOD talks til this day, and he knows his limits in what he can and cannot do, so that is not being all powerful!!!!!

I think the Answer to this question would be very difficult for you to understand given the amount of prejudice that you already have; so, I'll leave it at that.

May God Bless you.

yes it does, Jesus defeated satan and He sent us all to be 'overcomers' too, its what we're here for...so knowing this how bad do you think satan wants to destroy people, Especially the ones who seem to be overcoming his little obstacles the best?
