IMPORTANT: She has trouble chewing her Purina Little Bites, so she just swallows it. Can anyone recommend a food that's easier for little teeth to break up?

She gets wet food at dinner time, but I like to have a little dry available for her for while I'm not at home.

Royal Canin makes breed specefic food, good for small mouths in small dogs. I used to have our toy poodle on that, but had to drive clear across town to get it. I have always loved Nutro, and now I have her on NUtro natural choice sensitive stomach( puppy). The kibble size is very small and she has no trouble chewing them. Nutro is excellent food, and royal canin is good too! It may just take some experimenting to find one that works for you. I would NOT just go to soft food, as that is bad for dog's teeth and can cause periodontal diesease. :-)

Royal Canin Mini I think is what it is called is awesome food, but is very expensive. I buy Purina Pro Plan Select Turkey and Rice. It has better ingredients than the puppy chow. More expensive than puppy chow but worth the extra money. Less expensive than Royal Canin.

try adding warm water to her food. My Shih-tzus eat Timberwolf Organics and it is very small kibbles but they prefer it when I add warm water to it, it makes it a little softer and easier for them to eat - also makes a little gravy when added to the dry food.

Well, the water won't work when you're not home though because it won't stay fresh very long.

I have a small dog, a 13 week old Bichonpoo. She does very well with Eukanuba Puppy for Small Breeds. But Eukanuba also has adult food for Small Breeds. The kibble is very small. I also give her Ceaser Select for Puppies moist food.

Eukanuba.

Other brands have good ad campaigns, but Euk is the best dogfood, period. All of my show dogs are on Euk and I have never had a nutrition related problem with any of my dogs.

I wouldn't feed Pukerina to my worst enemy.
