Limit your intake of "white carbs," as they are not as satisfying and your body will just burn them. Rather look at complex carbohydrates from wheat breads, and whole grains. When I made the switch is was weird because I didn't like wheat...but now I have come to enjoy it better then any white bread. If you read any body builders diets, they really limit any type of white carbs.

Brown rice, wheat bread, wheat germ good-

White bread, white rice....bad.

Avoid white carbs for health.

If you wish to bulk up, add protein and natural carbs such as whole wheat and low sugar fruits.

Excess carbs lead to excess fat.
They are good burned as quick fuel and will not sustain you.
High carb diets are also largely responsible for adult onset diabetes.

Muscles are built of protein.

No. sugar and white processed foods are like poison to your body....you should be taking a GOOD sourced protein shake after your workouts to provide amino acids to rebuild and bulk your muscles. Treat sugar and white stuff like the poison it is.
