do what you want, its your body. I would recommend not doing it because that can leave scaring and maybe one day you will grow out of this and realize it was dumb... and wish you wouldn't have those scares that you have to keep explaining to people.

OK!
First I'd like to challenge you to try living a day with out that arm. Tape it to you're side or something and seriously try making it through the day with out it.
Second, give yourself a 30 second psycho analysis. Do you know why you find physical pain pleasurable? How many positive (uplifting or otherwise enriching) physical interactions have you had lately? This list should only include those interactions that were positive emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually (whatever your beliefs are).
Honestly I can relate to your question and even the forum in which you asked it completely. I would have gone in to much more detail on how I planned to cut my arm off and posted it more like a challenge. (Without proper planning the physical body would try to defend it's self from me by going unconscious).
Here's the scoop though. At the time in my life when I would have done such a thing, I regularly cut myself or burnt myself because I could still feel it! I had zero positive interactions with people. In fact I would have to say I had very few interactions but what little I had were abusive.
Now I'm not going to delve in to some personal story. Your question and this response are truly all about you. I would however like to ask you to really evaluate a few other things.
1) Is this question or the completed action a ploy to get more (positive or nurturing) attention?
2)Do you have any health relationships currently?
3) Do you have healthy interactions on a regular basis?
4)Have you considered reading some psychology books or something to see if you can gain a better understanding of yourself?
Seriously don't deny yourself or your arm the experiences still left in life! It may not all be good but I'm sure some of it will be.

i too enjoy the "darker" side of senstions, but i would suggest not cutting your arm. nipple clamps are wonderfully painful, or if you need more than i would say piercing, there is no permanent damage like there is in cutting and the sensation is more intense. i have personally found it hard to find someone to shall we say "lightly torture" me, especially since it does require a high level of trust between the two of you. but dear stay away from the cutting, even in the hard s&m world its not regarded as a safe and sane way to play. please email me.

if you enjoy pain so much, go to palestine and get all the taste and feelings of pain; being tortured by the israel!
now that's the real pain!

No. The pain is still there when you stop. It might subside temporarily, but it will return. Seek a more permanent solution, perhaps seeing a doctor for medication. Depression is very treatable.
