Use a Dry Scalp shampoo -- not a dandruff shampoo. I use Head and Shoulders Dry Scalp Care.

im a hairdresser and i would not use gel or lotion on ur hair ur just gonna build up more of that build up in ur hair which causes sweat and a dry scalp. what i recommend for my clients is tea tree shampoo and conditioner from paul mitchell. if u use some of those products that u can buy at the store those shampoos and conditioners just build up build up in ur hair and makes the cuticle of ur hair suffocate and thats why u get the dry scalp. i hope i was a help.

DANDRUFF AND DRY SCALP ARE NOT THE SAME!!!!

Don't use a dandruff shampoo for dry scalp! Dandruff is slimy yellow balls not white flakes.

Try to wash you hair every other day. If you can't make sure you use plenty of conditioner. Use a gentle shampoo with no Ammonium Laureth Sulfate or Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate. These chemicals will make your condition worse. Check your shampoo bottle for the ingredients. If your shampoo has these chemicals get rid of it.

Only use shampoos with Sodium Laureth Sulfate or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Make sure to get a shampoo with only one chemical, you do not need both.

gel does not do anything to ur scalp just ur hair it's self, and besides when u sweat it wouldn't even keep the gel hair in place. try using some Castor oil. use it as often as possible and spray ur scalp with some kind of hair spray. also continue to wash ur hair cause u sweat a lot.

ok your not going to believe this but its the truth, dont use any dandruff shampoo, just use a normal shampoo but use a conditioner. For a very long time I thought I needed dandruff shampoo an continue to use it with no positive results, a beautician told me years ago to start useing a regular shampoo and a conditioner and it worked. The scalp was just so extremely dried out is why the conditioner was so important.

Try using jojoba oil before you shower. Use only a small amount. Rub it into your scalp and then brush/comb it through. Then wash with your regular shampoo/conditioner. Do it only once a week.
Hope it helps.

This is a common condition throughout our world. It can be treated by several shampoos. Such as Neutrogena shamppos or scalp shamppos. You can also consult a dermotologist for further help.
