I don't know that there is a way to get a cat to stop spraying without getting it fixed. It wasn't until we got our cats fixed that they stopped spraying. Call your local vet. and maybe they have an answer. We got our cats fixed and they are doing just fine. Unless you are planning on having a liter it is best to get them fixed. If they aren't inside cats then you have a problem. You end up with a bunch that are expensive to maintain especially if they go out side., Up keep such as shots are expensive for a bunch of cats. Because you probably don't want a bunch of un wanted babies. Good Luck!! IF you decide not to have them fixed and they still spray you can find a good product at wal-mart to use to help get rid of odor. We had a cat who sprayed if his liter box wasn't cleaned to his liken even if it was cleaned often. I went to wal-mart and got a product that really works. You spray it on what ever the cat sprayed on then I washed it. I couldn't tell that it was sprayed on. Before I found this product we had to thorw things away. It is located in the pets dept.

Well Cutie Pie..........It doesn't matter if ya get him fix or not......he's a gonna spray. Trust me. Been there done that. Once it starts it don't stop! Vet told me if ya fix 'em when they are younger........5-6 months before they know how to spray & are still squating, then ya have a better chance of a male not spraying ever. I had a female that even sprayed & she was fixed! There was a BIG change in "our" lives & this is how she dealt with it. Marking "her" spot to "get back" at a situation I had NO control over. I finally after 3 years had to give her up. I do wish ya good luck & if I were you.......save the money 'cuz he's a gonna spray anyway if ya fix 'em or not. ........Good Luck.

Well , all you can do is get a spray bottle and spray him and say no. But it's really the best idea to get him fixed. There's so many cat's and dogs getting put down everyday , cause pepole are not getting thier cat's and dogs fixed. It breaks my heart to know that animals are getting put out. I'm not being rude or anything . I just care for all animals. He will not stop spraying until he is fixed. He is marking his terroey.

The answer is to get him fixed. He will not stop spraying otherwise. Do the animal population a favor, unless you will be breeding him purposely or he is STRICTLY indoors, get him fixed. It's not all that bad and you can affordably get it done by contacting your local Humane Society and finding the service that does it.

If you don't want to get him fixed then try duct tape(j/k). Why would you want to keep a male cat intact? They spray EVERY thing and it's almost impossibel to get the smell out! Plus you can't even imagine all the females he's getting pregnate. So spend the $75 and get him fixed!!!!

There is a product out that you spray on the things you don't want them spraying on, but I don't know how well it works.

You can't, it is basic behavior to mark territory. Most cat breeders keep their tom cats in a separate cattery because of this.
