I believe that would be either Jan and Paul Crouch of TBN(not positive of last name spelling) or Oral Roberts. Oral Roberts spends millions setting up everything from churches to schools, all with his name on it,never a mention of Christ. And Jan and Paul spend on surrounding themselves in riches and luxuries including a extremely large ranch which they are able to write off as a religious retreat because they let some kids use it a few weeks a year. Watch TBN sometime and check out the $3000 suits, the hokey faith healings with the same4 sick people showing up over and over in different dress and makeup, and the lavish surroundings.

I'm not a huge fan, because he plays very fast and loose with God's word twisting it to say what he's looking to say***, but I think Pastor Rick Warren got pretty wealthy from his 40 Days of Purpose books and offshoots.

But I recently heard he paid back every dime of salary his church had ever paid in salary (all the way back to the beginning of his time there, well before he ever wrote the books), and is giving away most of the royalties he's getting off the books (something like living off 10%).

*** I read Pastor Warren's books critically. He used a huge number of translations and paraphrases, picking and choosing the paraphrase or translation and part of a verse which would suit his purpose. Sometimes, he had a valid point, biblically, but often many of those times he took a verse out of context to skew it's meaning, when he could have perfectly well used another verse. Sometimes he twisted a verse out of context so much that the verse had a completely different meaning. While he probably had the best of intentions, I could not, in good conscience, recommend his books to anyone.

What does it matter? He can spend his money however he wants to. What do you buy with yours? Why is it that people expect preachers to be poor to be honest? Our God is all-powerful. He created the heavens and the earth and everything in it. He is King of all kings. And we are his children. If I ask God for a bentley and a palacial mansion, I believe that he'll give it to me. As long as I don't worship the things or cherish the things more than God. What God can give us here on earth does not compare to the riches and the blessings that He has prepared for us in heaven.

I'd say Pat Robertson - he has all those people sending him money all the time. He's got a huge house and a lot of cars. Funny - I wonder where those people who send him money think it is going?

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I - he receives a lot of financial support from wealthy Greek Americans and their churches.

It's probably Billy Graham. I would hope that he spends his money on his ministry. Although it does say in the bible that pastors of true faith live in poverty.
