Someone told me this is "the" book studied by English-speaking Muslims -- considered by many Muslims as a reliable, academic, and generally accurage account of Mohammed's life. Is this the general view among Muslims?

Also, if you have read the book, what are your views?

This book was given an award by the government of Pakistan, and selected as the best biography of the Prophet in English at the National Seerat Conference in Islamabad in 1983. In 1990, after the book had attracted the attention of Azhar University, the author received a decoration from president Mubarak.

Your being stupid. MUSLIMS can no longer invade different international places. this is usa that does that, alongside with Britain. Muslim international places ought to warn the enemy three times until eventually now they could attack. we will not harm ladies, infants, animals, the elderly, human beings working interior the fields, trees, vegetation, civilians. unlike interior the u . s . a . the place once you invade a rustic, you're making up stupid motives to fulfill your individual schedule and then falsely occupy a rustic for 5+ years like in Iraq and Afghanistan. Or interior the case of england invading India for one hundred or so years.

I have heard that it is a good read.

Check out the Review by Islamonline:
"Muhammad" - Martin Lings

This biography of Muhammad (pbuh), unlike others, is based on Arabic sources of the 8th and 9th centuries (of which some key passages are translated for the first time). It owes its freshness and directness of approach to the words of men and women who heard the Blessed Prophet speak and witnessed the events of his life. Nothing remotely comparable exists in English, or in any other European language. Really good book.

There are other good reliable sources reviewed by Islamonline.

I haven't read the book, but thank you for giving me the title of the book. I've been looking for a book like this for a long time.

Once again, thanks.
