December 22 and 23 when the world and his wife are travelling? Look, my friend, if you have not realised this by now - Priceline just dress up the cheap fares - fares that any old travel agent can get - and then let you bid more for them that you would have paid if you had gone to a regular travel agent in the first place. They are all the cr*p times and dates. Certainly not at peak Christmas times. Next, an aircraft has 200-odd seats and there are only so many of them going from A to B. Now, if each aircraft has 200 seats and there are 200 humans on it, the thing is full and all the searching in the world isn't going to change that. Further you want to travel at a peak, peak time. You will be lucky to get a seat at any price! There may be work arounds by going from A to B via C but for that you will need to find a good IATA travel agent.

Being flexible with your dates is going to be your best bet. Use the flexible date search on expedia or orbitz. It is hard to say if you can hit your budget without knowing where you want to go.

www.kayak.com

It searches major airlines even their on-line specials, and when you book it takes you to either the airlines site, cheaptickets.com or other reputable websites.

Where are you flying from and where are you looking to fly to? If we don't know that how can we answer your questions?
