Light exists. There is a planet called sun that produces light and sends it to us. Darkness does not exist. There is no planet sending us darkness. Darkness is just the lack of light. Can we assume in the same line of thinking that goodness exists and that what we call evil is just the lack of goodness?

The Bible says many times that there is evil here. It exists since Adam ate the apple - the misuse of pride, power, and anything else you want to name. The Bible clearly states Satan is real and he personifies evil.

In that line of thinking, could it be that evil is real and goodness is just lack of evilness? How would you truly know which is the real one, since both are present?

That being said, I think both exist. Just like dark and light exist...they may not be made the same way, but they're still there. True, darkness is a lack of light, but it's still there, it's created BECAUSE of the lack of light.

Light emanates from a point. Light traverses space and time to illuminate what it touches. Light, however, has no free will.

We have the opportunity to make decisions. To sow peace or hatred. To teach compassion or torment.

Twain once wrote (paraphrase)…all men have a dark side that they show to no one. Evil exists.

But evil does exists the devil is among us and it's our choice to not let evil get out but people do, evil really does exists!! Goodness exists as well, unfortunately people will let evil override the goodness.

First you need a concrete definition of which is which. Since so much is subjective, it is, for most practical purposes, a matter of point of view. That makes attempting to define it in physical terms impossible.
