I call them RPM's, rapid paw movements, and every dog I know does this. My Pug is doing it right now along with a rip roaring snore!

Yes, it is normal. We have a miniature dachshund, and he shakes, twitches, moves his legs like he is running and growls in his sleep all the time.
What is really a hoot though, is when he sleeps on his back with all four paws in the air! He gets going like that; whimpering and chasing with his legs in the air, it is just hilarious. I truly doubt there is anything seriously wrong! I bet he is just having a great time chasing some rabbit through a field in dream land!

Depends on the shaking. Dream shaking (like chasing or growling) are normal. Or is it a scary kind of shake, like a seizure? If it is the latter, see a vet.

yes it's normal for dogs to shake when they're dreaming. My dogs will occasionally bark in their sleep too when they're dreaming.

When a dog twitches in its sleep, it is possible it is dreaming, but you are not suppose to wake them up.

they are having dreams, just as people, and other animals do, if you watch anyone, or any animal sleeping, they all twitch, and talk or bark, or make noises.
