I learned them through theme - and the fact that they relate to periods in the life of Christ.

JOYFUL - deals with time around the Birth of Christ
1) Annunciation to Mary by Angel Gabriel
2) Visitation of Mary to relative Elizabeth, pregnant with John the Baptist
3) Nativity - birth of Jesus in Bethlehem
4) Presentation in the temple - a Jewish ritual done after the Jewish ritual time of purification for women in childbirth had passed - a short trip up to Jerusalem from Bethlehem with Jesus the baby
5) Finding in the temple - when Jesus was a young teenager.

After this, the LUMINOUS mysteries tell of the active life - then the SORROWFUL tell of the Passion and Death, and the GLORIOUS tell about the Ressurection.

Also there is a Catholic artist, Danielle Rose, who sells an amazing double-CD set called 'Mysteries' where she has done a song for each mystery. I remember these songs as I say the rosary. The music is achingly beautiful, I think her website is

No trick, just keep saying them unless you are not really praying when you say the rosary. Say the rosary often enough and you'd be surprise how the mysteries just comes out of you. Bless you.

Read this verse and apply it to what you're doing.

Matt. 6:7: “When praying, do not say the same things over and over again, just as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words.”

It'll be the easiest way to go and you are following the scriptures.

I have never heard of any mystery regarding the rosary, Jesus did not pray that way, he instructed us how to pray through what we constantly repeat as the Lord's prayer.

The Lord's prayer is a plan we are to follow when praying to Our Father, remember the disciples had asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, so Jesus did.

We are to acknowledge that Our Father in Heaven is the Almighty and that there is no one before Him, then continue, you can use your own words.,

Imagine that you are God what would you like to hear the same prayer night after night or intelligent ponderings and questions from your creation? Just follow Jesus plan for prayer, and ask and you shall receive, don't forget to ask forgiveness for those who have offended you, as you forgive them so our Father shall forgive you , ask all things in Jesus' name Amen.

I memorized them just by constantly saying them.

Repetition will help you. I never learned a memory trick for this, and at one time I certainly wish that I had!
