Apparently I'm either more fertile than I realized, or my body doesn't work well with birth control pills, or the patch either. I'm learning the patch didn't work the hard way LOL. The 2nd website gives you some information with comparison to different methods :)

Here's some info I found for you:
For women who are interested in worry-free birth control that lasts a year or more, the IUD is often recommended by doctors. Norplant implants last up to five years but are no longer available in the U.S., although women elsewhere may be able to obtain them. Similar to Norplant, Implanon has recently been approved for use in the U.S. Women who want no more children may opt for a tubal ligation, but keep in mind this is permanent and not easily reversed.
LONG-TERM METHODS
Intrauterine Device (IUD)
Norplant
Implanon
Tubal Ligation
Tubal Ligation Reversal

When it comes to reversible methods for men, condoms are the only option. Condoms are popular because they are easy to use and inexpensive. Made of latex, plastic, or natural animal tissues, condoms can prevent both pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease. For men who are sure they want no more children, vasectomy is a surgical option. While this birth control should be seen as permanent, it is possible to get a vasectomy reversal.

Like you, we don't like condoms, and my body doesn't respond well to the Pill, but after having my son, I had a Mirena IUD put in.

8 months later, I don't have any problems with it, and I don't even have periods anymore!

My doctor says that I won't have them again until I have the IUD taken out, and they can stay in for up to 5 years. Also, when I am ready for #2 and have it taken out, fertility is supposed to return to normal pretty much immediately.

Mirena (not sure about any other brands) is only used for women who have had at least one baby, so this might be perfect for you.

Ask your doctor about it. The only drawback I can think of is that if your insurance doesn't cover it, it can be pricey. My insurance covered the entire cost, but if I would have just paid for it out-of-pocket, it would've been something like $500.

Good luck, and congratulations on the new baby!

There's supposed to be a new contraceptive out for men. I don't know much about it, but I think it passed the FDA recently and should be on the market soon.

There's also the day after pill for women, but I heard it killed a few people, so maybe it's not such a good way. Well... actually I guess it works, but not the way you want it to.

Try an IUD. It can be inserted at the doctor's office. There are several types to choose from. Typically, they last from 5 to 10 years but can be removed at any time if you decide you want more kids. Mine has basically stopped my periods which I love.

The best contraception is abstinence... but i dont think that is the answer you're looking for. Depending on you and your mate, maybe to have your tubes tied or for him to get snipped,

Cant get better than those!!

well if you have problems with birth control then the hormone does not affect you. you should talk with your doctor about what to use to prevent another pregnancy. They will know what will work best for you. they have implants that are non hormonal, but are for long term use.

Do some research on an IUD. I have one and I am happy, but ask your doctor, and look into it for yourself.
