I have had so many issues with my son. I know other people do too. Where are they? They certainly aren't at story time at the library!
My son is really defiant, strong-willed, extremely curious, hyper, and smart. Great for him but tough for me!

How old is he? If he is 2, then he is acting normal. Its the other kids at story time in the library that aren't normal.
Try changing his diet, take out the red dye, processed sugar.
But don't curb his curiousity, channel his hyperactivity into productive play. When he starts school, around age 6, have him tested for ADHD, but don't let anyone convince you medication is the only solution.

Yes, my son, has ADHD, is on medication, but since his sister has ADD, she is 20 now, I knew the symptoms to look for.

It is difficult to meet parents, check your local library for meetings for parents with children of ADD or ADHD.

If you take your son to a daycare the provider may know of some classes that are offered for learning how to combat such behaviors, and or support groups, or specialists that can give you helpful hints. As a single mother of 5 children (2 with ADHD- not on meds!) and a former preschool teacher of over 6 years, I can tell you that there are answers out there.

Well ,who said being a parent is easy.Every parent has something to deal with. You can never take time off from being mother. As a mother of two,i stay up until 3 am in the morning.Just to finish everything and get ready for the next day. Before that they don't let me.So be it.It is never easy with kids, never.

Soon he will grow into a smart young boy. Have patience. I know a lady whose son was so hyper that she used to tie his hands and legs and put him in the bed while she cooked. You will find it tough I agree but some kids are impossible. Be proud of your kid.

You should talk to your pediatrician. There are plenty of support groups out there, for all sorts of things. I am sure that he/she can point you in a good direction.
