I've read a lot of answers and a lot of people said things about store-bought products and money issues. Well, when it comes to your hair, you should take good care of it. Your hair is the first thing people see when they look at you, it's what frames your face. You wouldn't put a priceless painting in a frame bought from the mega-mart, would you?
It's true, professional products are better. You get quality products. There are brands that are super expensive, but there are also others that can keep you in a budget. Redken, Paul Mitchell, Matrix, and Biolage are all brands that aren't too expensive. Right around the holidays there are lots of specials on hair products, too, so you save even more. Another bonus with professional products: The products are quality so you don't need as much shampoo to get a good wash; you don't need a cup of conditoner to keep your hair soft, usually a quarter sized amount is sufficient for even long hair.
You can be sure your hair always looks good by keeping your hair trimmed regularly (every 6-8 weeks) and by using quality, professional products.
F.Y.I. Beware of professional products sold in drugstores or mass retailers. These products have been purchased illegaly and may be altered and will harm your hair!!!

Matrix: Biolage is the best! It's quite in the pricey zone and is only on sale in professional hair salons.

But I don't recommend Pantene. Pantene has creates this layer of wax on your hair, making you think it's "shinier."

Don't use Herbal Essences, you can look at my questions about it if you want. It's really bad for your hair.

I recommend you getting a build-up shampoo you can use once a week to remove all that build-up from styling products. But for normal use, use Dove, TREsemme, Lux (found at Asian markets), v05, and Thermasilk. Those are ranging in 4-10 bucks. Biosilk, got2be, Bedhead, and others are ranging to 10-16 bucks.

This will probabaly help you too.

Any kind of hydrating shampoo is great. But to keep your hair from getting used to it and becoming flat......always switch to a different kind after a week or so - depending on how often you wash it. ALSO - there is such a thing as washing it too much. Two to Three times a week is plenty or else you'll wash all your natural oils out! :o)

I have used everything from redkin, to paul mitchell, to biolage herbal essences, and pantene. Honestly, i have awful hair, it is either too oily or to flat or too poofy. Although i don't have a problem with dandruff i tried head and shoulders. It's been a few months now and my hair still responds well to it.
