why do people call most soda's or cola's....coke

why do we call jello...jello? its a company name, correct name is gelatin.

its just the way of the english language. Flu is a virus, cold is a virus, just about anything that makes us sick is a form of virus. To say someone has a virus...since its a computer day, most think of a computer virus. So the normal term just became flu instead.

Flu aka Influenza is not the same thing as a cold. If someone has a cold but says they have the flu they are mistaken. People often don't know the difference between a nasty cold and the flu so hence they say they have the flu when in fact they only have a cold.

Flu is short for influenza, which is a virus that affects the entire body, headache, chills, temperature, sometimes vomiting (stomach flu) or gastrointestinal pain (gastroenteritis), coughing, sinus infection, possibly pneumonia if untreated.

The common cold is also a virus, but it doesn't cause the worse symptoms, just sore throat, watery eyes, runny nose, etc, possible cough.

I agree. If they HAD the flu they would be bed ridden, unable to get out of bed, extreme symptoms etc. How can you have the flu for just a day? All they really have is a virus and all is needed is bed rest and a panadol. Sooks, the lot of 'em.
