I think you will always have a special place in your heart for that person.

there will always be memories of your past loves even when you think you have completely moved on, this is only natural, but you have to realize that every person is different, and you cannot compare one person to another. Always keep these things in mind, do not judge anybody or try to change them, do not try to figure out what they are thinking, like them for who they are not for who they can be, and let their actions and behaviors be a guide to u in figuring out what type of person they are. AND most importantly, when you see potential problems TALK to them, they cannot read your mind either, either try to solve it or break it off because it adds up, and it will lead to a disaster. It is easy to say get over it, or forget about him/her, but this will happen as time goes by, the feelings will probably never go away completely, but you have to give people a chance and let them become your new source of feelings.

In my opinion, there will always be a spot in your heart for your first love. Regardless. It's not that you still love them it's just that you still hurt because you did love them so much. You may be content in your relationship but you still think about the past, and wonder why it didn't work out. And I mean, I've been there. Still have the occasional feeling, but I know it can't work out.....so I leave it alone! :) hope this helps

Yes. you can move on. But that special person in the past will always be in ur heart and mind...memories will be there, and that is naurally..but do not hold on and never give the full respect and love to ur present partner. I would not move on until I know deep down that I have accepted the fact that he or she is out of my life...but a piece of them is n my heart! I hope this helped you babe!

Well, in a sense you can. I fell in love with this guy a year ago. I felt like we were meant for each other, we had such chemistry. But we both started to pull away and the phone convo's stopped happening and eventually it had been months without talking to him. I don't think i love him anymore, but his picture still crosses my mind sometimes. You can move on, but you never REALLY forget.

Depends if it was someone that you truly did love or someone you just loved being with. If you found true love and lost them, that is something you will never get over, but you will move on. You'll just have them close at heart while you do.

You never do..I loved someone 40 years ago and think of him everyday of my life. I do not dwell on the situation but he enters my mind everyday. We were young and his parents insisted we break our engagement. I did not want to see him getting hassled every time he came home on leave from the military so I broke up with him. I than joined the military and married someone else. Divorced now and my old boyfriend is married.

Absolutely...peoeple do it all the time...you just have to want to...or you can cling to the past but what good does it do?
Give yourself closure, make up your mind that you are going to move on, then do so...otherwise you are just punishing yourself for no reason and not being fair to future people you get involved with (if you haven't gotten over an ex yet)...

Nope. If it is a true love that you have for the person it won't ever go away. It has been five years and I still think about him and remember the times we shared.

if the love is deep - i don't think you entirely do. there is still 3 people i've loved a lot that i don't think i will ever stop thinking of 100%. not that it controls my mind, but just a good, positive thing from a distance. ya know?

IF U HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT U CANT MOVE ON, THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BE WITH SOMEONE NEW. IT WILL ONLY CAUSE HEARTACHE. YOU ARE ALWAYS GONNA LOVE THE PERSON IF IT WAS TRUE LOVE. NO MATTER IF YOU FIND THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE AFTERWARDS. YOU WILL ALWAYS THINK ABOUT IT AND WONDER "WHAT IF." HAVE A GREAT DAY/NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK.
