Mahatma Gandhi said, "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." I know what the first part of the quote means. I just need to know what the latter part means. Your help would be much appreciated.

I think what he meant was that you should go after more knowledge and always be curious and wanting more, as if you had all the time in the world to learn everything you ever wanted to learn, and to take your time and keep questioning, never be in a hurry to just simply "get" something and move on...... I think that when I was younger that would have been difficult to imagine but at the age of 46 it makes a lot of sense to me.

If you are going to live forever you will need a lot of knowledge in order to live a wonderful life.
By studying, researching and learning you will get this precious knowledge.
