...According to Scripture, we are equals in Christ, but God has given each of us a different role. I am head of the house, final decisions stop here, but with my wife's counsel.
...Scripture says that women should be keepers at home, and raise children - this is what God has designed them to do. For many years, my wife has not worked (outside the home) and has raised our children and home-schooled them. No one has forced her into this; she wouldn't have it any other way.
...We are best friends.
...Ultimately, God holds me responsible as head of the house. Thanks to Him that I have a faithful and wonderful partner, who loves Him more than she loves me.

The marriage relationship is more than that. The wife must submit to the husband and vise versa. My wife and I are best friends, equals I am in charge of her spiritual well being, and my own. But we as men must remember Christ is our head, Him being the head of the church.

Equal partner. Closest Friend. Sounding board for ideas/plans.
P.S.
Never think your in the "boss" or "in charge" of your wife (or husband.) This is not healthy.

God did not put man "in charge" of anyone.
equal partners go with "equally yoked".
God made a woman from what? a Rib. There is a reason for that.
If man was to be in front of a woman, God would have made a woman from a backbone.
If God wanted a man being behind a woman, He would have used a bone in front.
God used a bone from where? Man's side. why? Because they are EQUAL. They are to be at each other's side.

I think we are partners, and I consider her advice at all times. I also believe, however, that I should be the one to make the final decision (which is often the one my wife talks me into - she's generally got better insight into a lot of things). I'm the one that should bear the consequences of a bad decision.

Partners, best friends, But if there needs to be a lead taken in a situation I'm in charge unless she says she can handle it before hand. ( she can handle anything !! she just likes to make me feel good.)

Good Question.
I am to love my wife more than my very self. This mean I must be willing to die for her. Self Sacrifice my existence for her well being.
I ask for her input into our decision for our family, but ultimately I must lead for the entire family. I rarely decide without her input. Mostly I agree with her perspective, but occasionally I make the decision contrary from what she thought was correct, but that I believed was in our family's best interest.
My wife submits to her husband, but is assertive enough to explain her perspective. I apologize when I make bad decisions, and she apologizes when she makes bad decisions.
Love is about self sacrifice in love. Husbands duty towards wife.
