To download videos from YouTube and any other site :
Get Firefox from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
And then install the Download Helper extension from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3006/
It works great for me.
Since the videos are in the .flv format you need to get a flv player. You can get a very good one (and completely free ) here http://www.download.com/FLV-Player/3000-2139_4-10505954.html?tag=tab_pub
Also you can use this site http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php and copy/paste the url's from the page with the video there but personally I'd recommend using Firefox

And for movies and anything else use http://www.torrentportal.com/ and http://www.bittorrent.com/ and http://www.torrentspy.com/
To download from this site you need a torrent program like these :

The best I have seen yet is http://www.morpheus.com
This is a blunt P2P program.
Lots of torrent programs are good as well, but morpheus is better for music and basic files, torrent is better for applications and harder to find items...
If you are really smart, newsbin is the best program to use, you can find anything in newsgroups ;)

You can download videos using bittorrent
the best bittorrent client is Utorrent
www.utorrent.com
find your movies at search torrent sites like
isohunt.com
torrentspy.com
minonova.com
and use your bittorrent client to dl it
Limewire is better, just choose the movies with the most amount of hosts and you dl will be fast

if you are looking for clips then www.youtube.com is the best option.
otherwise you can also use torrrent softwares such as bit torrent or bitcomet
