Hi Jamaal, listen I live with someone who had the same problem lately and she keeps putting different cremes on her face and forearm to try to get rid of it. Hey I'm with you on the sun thing, because I noticed she was getting the white blotches when she spent a lot of time helping me garden this year, which also would explain her forearms too. She was positive she had some kind of "funk", lol, but I just had a feeling it was the sun. I think people with this problem should start trying to use a good sunsceen and see if it helps. Good luck.

I tell this to all light skin or mixed african americans, when you get pulled over by the police they will let you know what race you are. Until then go with whatever works for you. Most light complected african americans have some other decent in the blood line or a pigmentation issue.

Hi
About 1% of the population suffers from a skin condition called Vitiligo, in which the skin cells stop producing melanin which is responsible for giving the colour to the skin.
In dark skinned people the melanin production is higher hence the colour is darker.
The cells loose their capacity to produce melanin with the age as well, that is why the hair turn white or grey with the age.
But in your case it could be some other skin problem, which could be due to infection or deficiency, which the doctor would be able to diagnose.
Best Regards

Not to be funny. But my sister gets those light patches, which the doctor told her it was a mild type of fungus. But was prescribed a Hydrocortoisone cream to clear it up. She gets those patches still every now and then. So I would suggest having a dermatologist look at it and prescribe a cream to treat it. Not sure what causes it. But my sister drinks a lot of water too.

not to be crude like the first person but you may in fact have the same skin disorder as mchael jackson
thus disorder is called Vitiligo and is known to cause patches of white to come on dark skin. michael jackson is just completly white cause he got some operation to even out the white color and to not be spotty.
of course it could be nothing but either way you may want to go see a dermatologist

It's just a minor pigment issue. I'm unaware of a treatment but there very well could be one. Nothing too serious though, medically speaking.
