I wouldn't know. I'll ask him if I see him and get back to you.

You make a good point, that we should be concerned with blessing the lives of those in need. After all, Jesus taught that we should do so. However, this does not mean that we can ignore the rest of God's commandments. We ought to dress the naked, feed the hungry, visit the sick, love our neighbors, AND stay away from gross wickedness. No sin is approved of God, but sexual sins are rather serious in the eyes of God. This includes any sexual behavior outside the bonds of marriage between a man and a woman. The children that die of hunger and curable diseases will be blessed in Heaven. Those who withheld food and medicine from them will be held accountable. Likewise, those who violate God's other commandments will also be held accountable. I consider myself right-winged, but I do not fixate myself on small passages in the Old Testament; instead I try to focus on everything that God has taught. Personally, I spend a lot more time thinking about how to help others than I do about gay marriage. Perhaps the media you have seen or heard did distort the reality. Of course, the media could also just be presenting views on one topic: the legislation of gay marriage.

I agree with you. The latter rather than the former. But the idea of homosexual "marriage" would not even be on the radar screen for the first-century Jew, which Jesus was. And, the people who put so much effort and emphasis on bashing homosexuals (there's nothing "gay" about the lifestyle...I minister in Hollywood) - if they would put the same effort into "dressing the naked, feeding the hungry, feeding the sick, loving your neighbor, doing unto others, etc." like you say....then this would be a much better world!

Very good question for this area in time for election, ha
How many Oprah, Madonnas, Dr. Phils and professional althetes, musicians do not speak out on helping gays...yet will create a organization on assisting poor, homeless people.
Seriously, the "religious folks" of churches may focus on the gays because people id with it more. The churches that judge more, may preach less on the service part.
The media may just twist it however you see. You are a individual with your own will. Whatever or how you interpret the word is your guide. A strict bible based church will teach on the loving and teaching, being there for others. Some churches only focus on the thou shall nots. Sin is sin in the Bible, so it would bother Jesus equally, I feel. He did preach more on caring for your neighbor and loving others, kindness, patience than gays.

Yeah, I agree with what you're saying. I personally believe that Jesus wouldn't even care at all about people being homosexual. I'm sure the "fundies" could come up with some Bible verse to prove me wrong, but I just cannot for the life of me imagine a guy like Jesus condemning a person just because he's gay. To me, it doesn't fit with his character. Maybe other people can, but I can't imagine it.

I think if jesus did exist then he would be more concerned with the children than gay marriage as he knows full well that marriage is nothing to do with the christian religion; it is a union between two people that has been around for thousands of years.

you r right, some people do focus on the small passages, but God did create male for female only!! it is mention in the Old Testament as well as in the New Testament--1st Corinthians 6:9--Please know that it hurts God to see all the suffering, but that is exactly why He sent His Son Jesus to die for us and give us a 'second' chance and if we have faith in Him and do what He asks we WILL see Him again someday and ALL THE SUFFERING WILL END!! even Satan and his demons know that James 2:19--look it up!!

There is no big sin little sin. The bible point out the homosexuality is wrong. Read Romans. And throughout the bible we are told to take care of the widows and ophans. So basicly both are wrong and neighter is more or less that the otherone.

considering Jesus FED the hungry and associated with PROSTITUTES and TAX COLLECTORS-scum of the earth for that time
I think ALOT of so-called Christians will be very disappointed when they get to heaven and are judged for their actions---just as they judged others.
1 Corinthians 5:12-13b
"What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside."
Luke 6:37, 41-42
"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven....Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Brother let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."
Matthew 19:17-19
"Why do you ask me what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments."
"Which ones?" the man inquired.
Jesus replied," ' Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother' and 'love your neighbor as yourself.'
these are JESUS' words that I follow

The reason we christians focus on the issue of homosexual marriage is that there are groups pressing hard for it so we press hard against it. The main reason however is there are consequences to following this path. One of the consequences, of the many, is that of children growing up in these situations.
