Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had 2 sons - Qasim and Abdullah -but they passed away at a very young age, when they were still children. The Prophet also had 4 daughters - Zainab, Ruqayyah, Umm Kulthum, and Fatimah (ra) - but the one that stood out most in Islamic history was Fatima. She had a very close relationship with her father and married his cousin, Ali. She is known to Muslims as the 'Leader of Women in Paradise'. She passed away not long after her father's demise.
Just to demonstrate how much the Prophet (pbuh) loved her here are some of his sayings about her:
1. "Whoever hurts Fatima, hurts me and whoever hurts me, hurts Allah."
2. "Fatima is the leader of the women in the world and the leader of all women who will go to heaven."

God has wisdom of why not any son survived after Muhammad. Fatima is the only survive one and look what happened, Muslims have been divided (sunni and Shia). so imagine if Muhammad (P) son was a live.

He only had 5 kids, and only one of them survived. The rest died from childhood illnesses. Bad genes I guess. You'd think with 12 wives, he would have had more kids. I guess God didn't bless him that way. Mohammad himself was said to be just a little guy, sorta light complected. There's also strong evidence that he was an epileptic. This backs up the bad genes theory.
