I have been playing tennis at least once a week for about 3 years now. Today, i was doing some speed drills. I'd set tennis balls on one side of the court and run there, grab one, and run back leaving it and running back for the others.

When I finished my drill, I was breating heavily, as usual, BUT, I noticed I felt light-headed, my vision was blurry, and it was more difficult to walk.

For the next 25 minutes, my breathing would not slow down, my heart would not slow down, and I was still light-headed, had blurry vision, stumbled a little, and it was more difficult to do normal things and think normal thoughts.

This has never happened to me before, and it was very scary. Does anybody here know what happened to me and why?

I am a 19 y/o male. out of Tampa, Florida.
The last thing I ate before this incident was a pork sandwich which was about 4 hours prior. I did not have anything to drink then, I usually do, so I think it was a combination of being tired from the night before ( I watched Yo Momma until 3am) I hadn't eaten in hours, I had no drink, and I was tired because I had just gotten out of class.

You suffered apnea, with a beginning of a convulsive state, due to over stretching your efforts.
Lack of oxygen, and the body tissues unable to receive enough oxygen through normal breathing.
1- Is the tennis court covered ? - fresh air needed inside.
2- have you had a heavy breakfast ? - digestion took all the blood oxygen.
3- Blood pressure too low ? -check for it

It was probably just dehydration/over-exertion. Did you take your pulse at the time? If it was regular and less than about 140 beats/minute then that is probably ok, but if it was faster than this and/or irregular this could be a sign of a heart rhythm problem (tachycardia). Did your heart slow down gradually or suddenly revert to normal? Mention this to your Dr next time you see him/her...but if it happens again go to the emergency department for a heart tracing to rule out any problems that would need attention. Most things can easily be sorted out so don't worry

You didn't mention your age, but that doesn't always matter anyway. What was the temperature?
It could be several things going on. You could have been dehydrated because of the heat and exercise, it could be something cardiac, to do with your heart or your blood pressure.
I would make an appointment with your doctor immediately or go to the ER. More tests are needed to find out what happened. Take it easy until you do one of these two things, hopefully it doesn't reoccur.

If it happens again, you should see a doctor. If u are used to it, it really shouldn't happen. I know from experience how hard those drills are, but you really shouldn't be that extreme unless you didn't get any sleep the night before or hadn't had anything to eat for a while before doing that. Were you well hydrated? Those are the symptoms of dehydration too. You also shouldn't drink just water doing exercises like that. Juice or Powerades are better then. I hope this helps.

Hey, don't be asking serious medical questions on the internet. None of us are doctors.

Your symptoms could be any number of things including blood sugar issues, aneurism, brain tumor. If you feel OK now that's good, but you should go to Urgent Care ASAP.

Your blood sugar could have possibly dropped. Had you eaten a pretty good meal that day? Also, your blood pressure could have dropped. If you are bending down and picking things up the blood is rushing to you head and it could cause your blood pressure to go down.

Previous answer is probably correct but you might also consider that it could be a panic attack. All the symptoms you mentioned are common with anxiety/panic attacks.

Your heart may be in the early stages of heart failure. See a doctor and keep a veggie diet. Men suffer more with heart problems than women.
