Well, I'm not Christian, but I still don't listen to the rap/hip-hop scene. I can't stand how dirty and violent a lot of it is. I do listen to a lot of modern music though. I love country music! Rock music is pretty good, at least the softer stuff. There are plenty of great themes about love, caring, and family out there. Don't limit yourself to Christian music, but please, don't listen to offensive garbage if you feel it brings you down! I sure don't listen to it...

Given the lyrics of most of the music you just listed, I would say yes you should stay away. I don't think you should be limited to just Christian music. I would just stay away from any vulgar/sexually explicit/etc. lyrics. Anything that could hinder your walk w/ God should be avoided. There are some new songs out that aren't vulgar or abrasive. As a Christian, I don't really like listening to "gospel" music- it's fun to play on the piano though. I do like the more contemporary Christian music. I usually listen to that, some country music, but, as a classical pianist, I also LOVE listening to classical music.

Speaking from One Christian to Another:
Listen to uplifting music. There is nothing wrong with a good old fashion love song. If you think it is degrading then you shouldn't listen to it.
You really shouldn't listen to music filled with hatred, disrespect, or things that only talk about sex. It doesn't edify you . If your a Christian you shouldn't be taking pleasure in it. The same goes with TV though.
As for those particular artist I do not know.

Music is an easy way for subliminal messages to be conveyed to the people. Unintentionally as a Christian you can have 'wrong' messages placed in your head and not even realise that they are there.
You will notice that Christian music tends to be about positive topics or spiritual topics which feed the soul 'good food'. I didn't realise the extent of the messages in music until someone explained to me that the songs that I sung along to were actually about relationship breakups, sex, murder, heartbreak and other negative things. This in turn can make you angry, lonely and sad.
I say stick to Christian music - there are Christian rock bands these days that have a great beat but also a great message.

I heard this a long time ago......God likes all music, what he doesn't like is the lyrics that people put into it. Of course you don't always have to listen to Christian music, I listen to Justin Timberlake, Destiny's Child, etc. all the time! But God doesn't want us exposing ourselves to things that will cause us to sin. If you're listening to the music and it's making you sin, don't listen to it, some of these songs have good lyrics, good messages. Others don't. Stay away from the bad ones, don't support them. Otherwise, its okay :) God wants us to enjoy all music, mind you it's not against him or his laws...lol :)

I personally think it is better to just listen to gospel music. rap music has to much stuff about sex and drugs. But sometimes I find a song that I like and has a good meaning to it. I guess it just depends what the lyrics are saying or suggesting. As long as the music isn't "sinful sounding" I think it is OK to listen to it.

I personally don't think you have to limit your listening to just Christian music. There's a lot of good music in the world besides religious music. I do like to limit my listening to songs that are uplifting and without hateful lyrics.

God doesn't want us to listen to wordly music that degrades women and that promotes violence. I think that sticking with Christian music is a good thing. There are good Christian rap groups like CrossMovement and others. Music with bad lyrics affects our thinking in a negative way and ultimately comes out in our behavior.

We can choose to listen to any kind of music. But listening to Christian music feeds my spirit and I need that. I believe Christians should try to stay away from seccular music and listen to godly music - just my personal opinion.

Is it Wrong to Read All Kinds of Books?
Listen, when your a Kid you can be MisLead Very Easily.
As you Grow Up you Learn to Seperate the Truth from the Lies.
After you Grow So Much, you are Able to DISCERN all of This and can Listen to WHAT you want to, cause you are Mature Then, you Won't let the Lies MissLead You.
But when you are a Kid, be Very,Very Carefull, till you Learn the Truth and Grow!
Hope this Helps...........................
