I bought a new Ford Ranger - 04 for 17,000
They are still selling them used for 14,000
That's pretty good resale. Ford and Chevy have great resale. Do some research.
New Tacoma w/ 25,000 miles?? What does that mean?

there is no question in anybodies mind that the toyota is a better vehicle. however, you included miles and price so here is my two cents on that. miles are near the same however, the toyota is going to last more than 100k more than the ford (on average) anyway...the price is what the market will produce so ...lets base this descision off of a "good deal"...i dont want to use a calculator but im guessing that the 5.1 lower interest will save you at least $1000 over 5 years..probably even 2 or 3k...all the way around the board...go toyota.

Please consider the parts and repairs. If you are in an area where mechanics will not work on Toyotas (they need to be certified) you are better off when the Ford breaks down. Almost any mechanic will work on a Ranger. (I had a Ranger for years and it never gave me trouble.) Neither vehicle is that good for off road driving (too light).

Toyota all the way. My hubby has a 2000 Tacoma and the only thing we have had to do besides regular maint. stuff is replace the thermostat (simple cheap fix).
