They all claim that they come from God. That what they say is not their own words but what they have been taught to say by the one who has sent them. So why should there be such antagonism between religions?

God is perfect, but how does a mortal eye see perfection? Perfection is in the eye of the beholder, so that creates differences in every single mind that tries to percieve perfection.
Think of each religion having some pieces to the big puzzle, the only problem is that each individual religion tries to claim there pieces are the full puzzle. Even some of the more frowned apon religions have a piece or two, just not the good safe pieces.
I looked over a bunch of religions, judaism christianity and Islam are the same religion only living in differen't times. The big christian thing is you have to accept Jesus, well Islam does that so where is the main issue between Christianity and Islam?
When I looked religion over it looks more like a popularity contest for prophets than it is actually about glorification of god. That is the main issue, just a giant chaotic prophet popularity contest. All these one true god religions are actually turning into Idol worshipers just because of this prophet popularity contest, so that begs the question who really is the infadel?
If the religous world could drop the popularity contest, read each others books, and decide that the way they are acting right now is more satanic than a person who claims to be a satanist there wouldn't be as much confusion on the topic of religion and god.
This right here http://www.bahai.org/ is the religion that makes the same claim I am making here. They claim that religous history is an evolving educational process for the human race by the prophets or messengers all the religions cling to. It is a good read, makes more sense than I'm right and your wrong because I say so, and no is murdered in the name of god.

Sure He's the same in all religions. Religion is simply the method you choose to worship Him.

The antagonism between the religions is the difference in their beliefs and the lack of love between God's children. If you have siblings or more than one child, you know all about the fighting that can go on between brothers and sisters.

I wonder if God sometimes thinks about putting us all in the corner till we can play well together. lol

God is one, but people are many.

It is difficult for most humans to accept any 'one size fits all' concept - whether regarding shoes or following theology.

People prefer to feel special and feel the right to create an environment where they are assured to feel special.

God reveals and man steals. Men take a godly inspiration and steal the simplicity from it and - boom! Another religion, or variation on it, is born.

Religions should not engage in antagonism, but they ultimately must if their focus is being in this world. This need to prove right causes great friction. They focus on this world to save souls, of course - but each great prophet, teacher, religious head and Jesus said that we were to eschew the things of the world and look for spiritual things, heaven and home. That we were to help each other.

Sorry - I know you didn't ask for this rambling answer. I just needed to write down some thought. Thanx.

Jesus Christ appointed apostles and had a church going but they were persecuted until all of them were martyred then the true church went into apostasy about AD 100 to 250 it got so bad that a Roman Emperor, got the leaders together and then they came up with the Nicene creed and that was the basis for the Roman Catholic church most of the others were break offs from that when they did not agree with the doctrine. The Church of Jesus Christ L.D.S. was started by a young man who was visited by God and Jesus and several different angels who brought back the proper authority of the true church. But that said any one who truly believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and tries to follow his teachings the best they can is a true christian regardless of the Church they belong too.

I'm assuming that all the religions are different interpretations of "god's message". Though I don't believe that there is a god, I know there are a lot of people from different religions have similar beliefs on subjects.

One is real, the rest are false. Christianity is an exclusive religion since one of our core teachings is that no one can come to God the Father except through Jesus Christ. To do that, you have to accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord.

People don't even accept the logic of a single God. If you change his name, some people think the mere changing of a name creates an additional God.

Since some people believe in god and others doesn't. Since others want their own religion, they will make up their own religions like budas and stuffs instead of believing in god or chritianity.
