join the army I am a 15y which is an Armament, Avionics, and Electrical systems repairer for the AH-64D longbow Apache helicopter. from there you can enroll in embry riddle the premiere aeronautical school for a bachelors degree in aeronautical science but to work on aircraft in the civilian market you need to have an A&P licence which is part of the cirricilum!

Typically folks who fix aircraft are not engineers, but technicians. Some of them specialize on engines, the aircraft itself, avionics, or other specialties.

Aeronautical engineers deal with aircraft design, and the manufacturing of aircraft.

Avionics deals with the electrical and electronic equipment used in aircraft.

Aerospace Engineers work on everything from aircraft to space shuttles, as well as roller coasters....etc. I started out in Aerospace Engineering but changed to Mechanical Engineering to avoid a 4 hour a day commute. Mechanical also works on aircraft but not as much.
