I am assuming that they will be dominated by sweet, malty/spicy flavors and will have little bitterness. So far I have only come up with: roasted figs stuffed with goat cheese, hot dry coppa with mascarpone and grapes, smoked trout, tomato/basil bruschetta . . . . Help! BTW this is not a sit-down affair - though the possiblity exists that it may end up a fall-down one.

Little sausages or sliced sausages, cheeses and dark peasant breads and a variety of mustards. Mushroom caps filled with ground beef and Parmesan, mini beef wellington, and quiches.

Sounds like fun, even for a non-drinker like me.

The food choices you've already made sound great. You might want to get a semi-soft Italian cheese called TALEGGIO that has been described as tasting like "beer spread on a cracker"!

May I also suggest lots of toasted breads such as German Rye, Whole Grain and some of the more interesting Artisan breads. Have a few crocks of slightly chilled UN-salted butter handy for spreading.

Fresh fruit (red grapes, pears, apples) etc. always are nice as "pallet cleansers" since your guests will be tasting a variety of different flavors and you don't want to confuse the tastes.

And LOTS of fresh brewed coffee available!

You could always go to your local wine and spirits store and ask the people there what they suggest. They have to be fairly conversant about food pairings so their products taste good.

Hope this helps.

Make sure to enjoy your own party and not get stuck in the kitchen!

You're on the right track. I like the choices.

Maybe smoked salmon too
Slices of Focaccia
Lumpia
Teriyaki Roll-Ups - Marinated beef wrapped over water chestnuts and either baked or microwaved for an easy and quick appetizer or main course.
Deviled Eggs (why not? it's always good)
And maybe just a deli meat and cheese platter.

Have fun!

Cheese! My friends and I did a 'beer and cheese' evening once instead of the usual 'wine and cheese'. It was great.

Anything salty will be good. You can go Oktoberfest and bring out the sausages and pretzels.

- sweet 'n sour mussel & gurkin (on a toothpick)
- spicey little meatballs
- dried garlic sausage
- garlic bread

Enjoy!

And don't forget a sampling of good cold cheeses. That always works.
