There are many other words also used as profane, but Jesus Christ And God are often used the Most, I agree.
Many people hear these names used profanely in there homes when they were growing up, at there church, on the streets, at there schools, from the media, as well as on Television.
But if we as humans are truly mindful, aware of our thoughts, we can effectively choose Not to swear even in the face of anger.
It is every individuals choose to do so or not
Some continue to swear in this way, because they are deep down inside, blaming God, and not taking responsibility for themselves and their own actions.
These are my own personal opinions, not taken from scriptures, or any other sources.

There is a much greater significance in Jesus being the "Bright Morning Star" and a far lesser significance in Lucifer who was once a "shining star". Stars can be angels, kings, leaders, but the One who is the Bright Star stands out of the rest who are less significant. It is the Lamp in Revelation 21:23 who will shine in the Temple as God's Eternal Light! Archangels may by shiny, but they are not the Bright Morning Star who is the everlasting Light of men in John 1:4-5!

Lucifer dammit just doesn't roll off the tongue as well. Besides if God really exists, and really created the world we live in then he is the truly evil one and therefore deserves to have his name used as a profanity. His name should in fact be profane to any ear that hears it,for if he is all powerful then he is personally responsible for all evil in the world and deserves no reverence.

Because the Devil would only be too happy for people to use his name for cursing--or even for blessing.
By contrast, while God *IS** Greatly Offended when we use His Name to curse(sins against the Second Commandment), He Is Pleased when we use His Name To Bless.

It stems from wishing a foe or opponent be smitten or damned by God. It should be obvious from the ever popular "Goddammit". Why would someone ask Satan to damn something?
