My son has been peeing and pooping in his room. I know that he knows better. Can any one help me to figure out why and how to fix this problem?

My daughter dose the same thing no one really wants to talk about that kind of thing its embarrassing as a parent to tell people that thank god for this site. Mine likes to go poop and hide some ware and put it on the walls or smear it on something. I looked into this on line the only thing I found was this is an attention technique yet this was hard for me to understand because she gets plenty. I think it is a power of control. She knows she is to use the potty and its a big deal when she dose and she knows its not OK to poop where ever she wants. She wants to be the one in control . Great news she has not done this in about 4 months keeping fingers crossed. Also I read that we are not to make any kind of fuss or deal out of this when it happens.

Good Luck I know this is no fun

It takes many years for a male child to have his facilities fully mature. Girls are quicker at being able to control their natural process. Don't be hard on the boy. Sometimes, some males continue to have incontinence problems well into their teens.

See his pediatric doctor for assistance.
