I think you should do whatever your heart is in. If you love chemistry then do chemistry. Don't you think college is past the point of geeky and popular? In college, you'll take a lot of chemistry courses and lab courses. For the most part, you will just be conducting experiments out of the lab manuals... it's more like following a recipe and reporting on the results. It's very systematic and organized. You'll learn about chemical structures and properties and how to determine which products you have, how to purify and isolate them. After you have your degree in chemistry, you should go on to graduate school. You could become a pharmacist, doctor, PhD... all sorts of things.

future marine biologist here. i love it. when i was in high school they offered marine biology and i took it because it sounded like a lot of fun. we went on a cruise and got to learn about all different kinds of marine animals and stuff. from that moment on i wanted to become a marine biologist. its fun and exciting.....just the way i like it. i can study all sorts of animals from how they live to what they eat and how they survive horrible accidents.....its sooo cool.
