Ok here's how you do it:
Step one: wet your hair completely, then VERY lightly dry certain areas so when you are finished it is half wet, half dry.
Step two: take a ROUND hair brush, twirl your hair around it until it forms curls.
Step three: cover each curl in hair gel one by one. blow dry while still holding the curls in place.
If you use a curling iron though, it will lost longer. This method you have to use it every day if you want it to stay.

Do you have naturally curly or wavy hair? What you can do is after you get out of the shower (try herbal essence dream curls shampoo and conditioner), let it dry a little bit, and comb it out. Then you can use a gel or mousse for curly hair and scruntch your hair up to the roots, and keep doing that until it's completley dried. That's what I do.

If it's straight, you'll have to use something, whether an iron or rollers, unless you get a perm. I've been using Redken's Curl Energee on my hair & it helps it hold a set longer

You can scrunch, blowdry with a diffuser, use rollers, get a perm or, you can even use a straightener to curl the ends up.
