Connect the audio line out to an splitter and feed those RCA connectors into the left and right jacks.

The VGA connector only conveys the video, no audio.

VGA and DVI are for Video only. It would be best if you had an A/V receiver to amplify the audio out of the laptop before sending it to the speakers.

When I travel I bring a pair of Bose Video RoomMates.

As stated, sound is different from video. neither VGA nor DVI has anything to do with audio. You're going to have to either (the cheapest way) take a stereo minijack out of your lap top into some sort of amp, or get yourself a soundcard.

VGA out meand VGA out, not sound dummy!!!

sound is seperate from video. connect your output to a sound device.
