The biblical scrolls and earlier bibles used God’s personal name until later years when Christendom replaced it with LORD or GOD (all capitalized) ON THE INCORRECT RATIONALE THAT THE PERSONAL NAME WAS TOO SACRED TO BE USED. Yet God is the one who made his name known. We all have personal names and not titles. LORD, GOD, Lord and God are all titles. Proper reference means that God should not be called by title, for God has a personal name and our prayers would be most effective if we address him by that name. His son, Christ did (Refer to Christ’s answers to Satan, when Satan tempted him). Think about the Model prayer taught by Jesus. “Our father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name….” Stop to ask yourself, how can it be hallowed, when many do not even know the name. In our bible reading, shouldn’t we use God’s personal name whenever we see LORD and GOD by substituting those titles? God personally let us know His personal name in Exodus 3:15 and 6:3. Your Bible version may contain that personal name (not capitalized LORD,GOD) at Genesis 22:14, Exodus 17:15, Judges 6:24, Ezekiel 48:35, Psalm 83:18, Isaiah 12:2, Isaiah 26:4.. Did you know that each time you say Alleluia, that you are actually saying ‘Praise JAH (short for Jehovah, the personal name)’ and that the Hebrew form of Jesus means ‘Jehovah is salvation?’

I'm not a JW, but I agree whole heartedly. why would they take God's name out and substitute it with something else. If God put his name(Jehovah) there He must have wanted it there. It seems to me that was taking away from the Word, to remove it.

hmmm makes me laugh when people says there wasn't a J sound in Hebrews. There are so many names in the bible that starts with a J. Jacob, Jesus, John, to name but a few. Jehovahs name would have sound as though it had an i in front of it instead of a J. Some feel that Jehovah's name is to sacred to use so they don't include it in their translations.

You do not honestly know Hebrew !!

The Y can Not be justly translated from the Hebrew into a J = to English.

God's personal Name is YHWH and none other !!!

When we say or sing Alleluia we are not saying Praise Jah or Jehovah.

Alleluia = Praise or Worship YHWH.

The hebrew has no vowels.

The hebrews/jews call Him, Hashem, for His name is too Holy to be uttered.

It is time for the Self-Righteous ones (Pride) come to repentance for all there sins, wholeheartedly once and for all.

And then serve the one true God. YHWH !!!!!

And where are you going with this 'question'? Are you 'witnessing' online so that you can report more hours on your time slip, the next time to go to the Kingdom Hall?

It's fairly obvious that you are one of Jehovah's Witnesses. If you were so concerned with doing what is right, they what about the fact that your organization is protecting pedophiles, and excommunicating victims and members who want to protect other children from becoming victims? Did you know that your organization is spending millions of dollars on court cases protecting these child mollesters, some of which have been convicted in a court of law? And at the same time, turning their back on the very ones that these pedophiles have victimized?

And by the way, 'Jehovah' is not a hebrew pronunciation.

Be careful about confusing generalities and specifics brother. A lot of times from Genesis-Malachi, when God is used God is plural (Elohim) not singular in the Hebrew.

It was not Christendom who did this, but Jewish translators, who translated the Bible to greek. It is not in the Christendom tradition, hovewer, to think that there is a "personal" name to God. His name Jahveh have a particular meaning, and there is a lot of other allegoric names to God in the Bible.
