Check with your housing office. Don't try to get away with anything, some spouse with nothing better to do will rat you out.

It depends some people get away with it,some post required proof that you have full custody of the child (so they know that child is living with you most of the time.
If they require proof and your wife leaves they give you 30 days to move out.
If that child is already on there on your lease as your dependent then i don`t think you would have to move out.

As long as your dependent child is living with you or you have joint custody you can stay on base. If you wife is coming home every few weeks, i don't think it really matters. It doesn't sound like your getting a divorce or anything

That's how it was when my Dad was in the Air Force (1960's and 70's). We (Mom, Dad, Sis, Bro, and me) would all be happily living on the base, then Dad would get transferred out of the country. During that time, My mom and us kids would have to move off base into an apartment, untill Dad returned to the states.
Am in my 40's, now. I do not know if it is still this way (moving off base when the military spouse leaves) or not.

even if your wife leaves, and you have your child living with you,you have every right to continue to live in that home...i recall living in base housing and the guy next doors wife left, i hadnt seen her for over 2 months, finally the base caught wind that he was living there as a single person and they flipped...they contacted his command and i think they took some of his pay because he was living there under the wrongs circumstances...

as long as you have custody of this child, you are authorized to keep housing. is your wife leaving for good? if she leaves for a while and comes back you can still keep housing.
