Is it mostly women? I'm a chocoholic and crave chocolate almost daily, especially at night. What is in it that makes it so addicting?

There is a chemical in chocolate that produces the feeling of limerance; that is the feeling when you are first in love or infatuation, when you cannot think of anything else, a craving for Love as it were. Now you know why men give chocolates on Valentines day. I forgot the name of the chemical, sorry.

I used to crave it all the time, but now I don't - go figure.
don't get me wrong, lest I incur the wrath of thousands of women,..... I still LIKE chocolate - I just don't crave it anymore.

chocolate actually haves caffeine in it, so that might be it. some people also just "think" they are addicted to it. if i were you, and wanted to quit at night, change your bedtime habits, if that didn't help maybe drink a coke/diet coke a few hours before bed.

oxytocin. It's a chemical found in your brain, moreso for women than men, only under 2 conditions. when you just had chocolate, and when you are in love.
