Your recipe is very similar to mine. But try this.

in a bowl mix ground meat, steak sauce, garlic powder, itialin seasoning, minced onion, bread crumbs, ketchup, and 1 can of meatloaf sauce pre made.

Cook that then make you a sauce to put on the top of it

mix ketchup, sugar dont make it to sweet but have it so its not tasting like pure ketchup put it on the meatloaf about 5 mins before its done.

this is a very good meatloaf i promise

some people put ketchup on top... but the best meatloaf ever?

Basic meatloaf... add real bacon, real onions, worstechire (or however it's spelled!), black pepper, and some cheese. I call this cheeseburger meat loaf.

You can do all kinds of variations, maybe some Italian seasoning, taco seasoning, or something like that.

We also make a non traditional meatloaf where we put layers of sliced onions and sliced potatoes on top and tomato sauce. mmmm

Hey! My mom just hade some meatloaf that has salsa in it, and cheese. It was different but very good :D

She used one of those new rubber bakeware items that makes like 8 individual meatloafs. She put Salsa in the mix, baked it, and when it was done put some salsa and cheese on top while still hot!

I've also had some with BBQ sauce on the top after it was cooked! That was a different taste too :D

Hope that helps some

I like to saute onion and green pepper chopped up fairly fine before adding it to the meatloaf mixture. Really adds such a good flavor.
some other ideas:
You can pat your meatloaf out, and in the center put cheese and olives and then 'roll it up' and bake it. It's pretty when you slice into it.
You can 'frost' your meatloaf after baking, with mashed potatoes and kinda swirl it like frosting then put under the broiler for a minute until the tops get brown. Very pretty and special.
or top the meatloaf with a mixture of catsup, brown sugar and prepared mustard and after mixing them together top the meatloaf with that. It's kind of a BBQ idea--and a big hit at our house.
Happy Cooking!

I put green peppers, onions, eggs, crackers, (if I'm out of crackers, then dry oatmeal works just as well) ketchup and a small amount of tomato juice. I also make a topping for it made out of ketchup, mustard and brown sugar. Sounds weird I know, but everyone raves over my meatloaf.

you can mix in about half a can of tomato sauce in with the bread crumbs & eggs, insert onion slices edges ways up about half way into the top of the loaf and then pour the rest of the tomato sauce over the top of the onion slices and loaf before you bake it.

my wife makes a mean meatloaf. She mixes it and puts it in the oven plain and when it's done she drains off the grease and then pours a couple cans of campbells tomato soup over it. Serve it with mashed potatos.

Saute onions until golden and put them in your meatloaf. Also saute small whole mushrooms and put them in. Make sure to add several cloves of fresh crushed garlic. Finally, add fresh Salsa, hot or medium, just a tablespoon or two. Delicious. Good Luck.

Mozzarella Stuffed Meat/Turkey Loaf

1 1/4 pounds ground turkey breast (or ground beef)
1 10-oz pkg frozen chopped spinach, thawed, squeezed dry
1/2 cup minced onion
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 egg whites
salt and ground black pepper, to taste
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
4 ounces fresh mozzarella, cubed
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

Preheat oven to 375°

In a large bowl, combine turkey, spinach, onion, bread crumbs, parsley, oregano, egg whites, salt and peppers. Mix until combined and divide in half.

Press 1/2 of the turkey into an 8-inch loaf pan covered in foil. Top bottom half with cubed mozzarella cheese. Press the rest of the turkey mixture over top and press down to flatten the top.

In a small bowl, combine the ketchup and mustard and with a pastry brush, brush the top of the meatloaf. Bake about 1 hour, until top is golden and the loaf begins to pull away from sides of pan. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing.

Chili Meatloaf & Potato Casserole
Serving Size : 6

Meatloaf
1-1/2pounds ground beef
3/4cup finely chopped yellow onion
1/3cup saltine cracker crumbs
1egg
3tablespoons milk
1tablespoon chili powder
3/4teaspoon salt

Potato Topping
3cups prepared mashed potatoes
1can (11 ounces) corn with red and green peppers, drained
1/4cup thinly sliced green onions
1/2 to 1cup shredded taco-seasoned cheese

Heat oven to 375°F. Combine meatloaf ingredients in large bowl, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Gently press beef mixture into bottom of 9-inch square baking pan.

Bake in 375°F oven to medium (160°F) doneness, until not pink in center and juices show no pink color. Carefully pour off drippings.

Meanwhile combine topping ingredients, except cheese, in medium bowl. Spread topping over meatloaf to edges of pan; sprinkle with cheese. Broil 3 to 4 inches from heat 3 to 5 minutes or until top is lightly browned. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting. Cut into 6 even pieces.

Note: Due to the natural nitrate content of certain ingredients often used in meatloaf, such as onions, celery and bell peppers, meatloaf may remain pink even when a 160°F internal temperature has been reached. Always check the internal temperature using a meat thermometer or instant-read thermometer to be certain it reaches 160°F.
