Could someone please let me know? That is my name, and it is pronounced Seandee. I have heard many things: Goddess; Child of the moon. I was wondering if anyone had a source or knew. Thanks

Chaand means moon in Hindi-Urdu; Chaandi means silver.
It's certainly complimentary! Moon-faced is an classic description of youthful beauty in Urdu poetry.

Normally the pronunciation would be CH as in church, the aa long as in pAth; but it's YOUR name, so say it the way that seems best to you.

I know that chand means moon in Hindi or Gujarati, and the "ee" sound makes it feminine...also in the Middle East the moon is very much a symbol of beauty.
