I am not going to ask why you would be using one blade for 2 months at a stretch,as I'm not sure the answer will be too palatable.
That said,I have no doubt that increasing the turnover of your blades will improve the esthetics of your skin in that area.I shave daily myself and I don't use a blade for more than a few days.(If your challenge is financial, then may I suggest rinsing your NEW shaving sticks after use thoroughly and storing them head down in a small cup of cooking oil. This keeps them from corroding and holds the edge sharp for a while. I had to try this when I was travelling in an area where I couldn't get replacement blades and it served me very well.)
Some folks complain that too infrequent shaving gets the skin there darkened, whilst others have the opposite complaint, due to use of a dulled - and therefore less effective - blade bruising and abrading the area. The answer is to use a fresh, clean shaving stick like the Bic Soleil or Venus ones with all the moisturising strips. Have a look around your supermarket shelves in the feminine care aisles. Use a good shaving cream/gel (try Skintimate) every time you shave, soap doesn't really get the same effect as a shaving cream/gel.
You might want to try powdering your underarms after applying deodorant and letting it dry completely. I suggested this to a college roommate with a similar complaint of darkened skin in the armpits and she saw results in about six weeks.
And,you could use a depilatory cream (like Nair or Veet or Sally Hansen ) or wax the area , instead of shaving. These two methods keep hair off for much longer - although I'm the first to admit that waxing rather scares me even though I know it really works ;->

Take that used razor blade out and get a new razor.
If have never heard that it darkens arm pits, but I do know that not showering properly will get a dirt build-up under the arms. Please just wash with a good body wash, and change blades in your razor at least every week or so if you use it five times a week.
I got a Gillette Fusion and I love it. Gives a close shave and has not cut me yet.
Best wishes to you.

I think just shaving does that. Then again i don't know--I think for some people it could be a natural thing too because this chick had dark armpits and i knew she really didn't like shaving (I know...). But you should throw away the disposable razor at least after the second time just for anti-bacterial/irritation prevention. I have been told that if you shave under your arms, you also have to use sunblock on your underarm skin too.

I always wondered why some girls have such dark underarms even though they shave. Maybe it's because you have thicker hair? But you know what? I just tweeze mine. The first few times it hurts but now it's kinda fun. I'm sure waxing is much easier but I don't know how to use the wax and I don't have enough money to spend on waxing my underarms. But once in a while when I'm lazy or in a rush I just shave.
Oh! Try exfoliating your underarms with a face cleanser like St. Ives. I do that to prevent ingrown hairs.
Try it, hope it works for you. Good luck :)

I dont know about the darkness thing,
However, it isnt good to use the same razor for over...i'd say...2-3 weeks.
You're shaving 5 times a week under your arms? Slow down, it couldnt possibly be that bad, plus, all that shaving is destroying your skin.
Perhaps thats the problem.

The darkness factor is a myth but my advice is to change your razor more often, like every two weeks for example. A couple of things that can lead to darkness is sweat mixed with deodarant that has soaked into your pores and you may just have darker hair, which means the skin that the hair comes out of will be dark as well. You cantry lightening creams for this. I hope this helped.

The darkness of your underarms isnt only from your razor, although I don't think it helps. The discoloration is from the friction that occurs in that area.
Veet is excellent, if you dont have sensitive skin.

Five times a week is too much. I suggest you wax. It will grow back less thick. Only you will have to let it grow in about 2 week first before you can wax.

I would say its not the razor that is making it appear dark...it is the lost effectivness of the razor. You not cutting as much as you were when it was new...so the stubble appears quicker.
