I like this one I heard about the watch. If you found a watch on a rock in the middle of a field, how do you know someone made it? If you are like most these days, you'd point to the manufacturing mark on the back (or inside the cover if it was a pocket watch). So, how do you find proof of God or the Mother Goddess? If she is a creator wouldn't she continue to create? What on earth continues to create through a means which they really don't fully control? Life of course. So, we ourselves are the watch. Now what about ourselves proves that there must be an intelligent creator? Maybe our own intelligence (or lack there of at this moment in history) and maybe own uncanny ability to 'hear' inner wisdom. This wisdom has led many to extraordinary things. So, I disagree with Carl (Goddess I never thought I'd ever do that) that claiming the existence of Goddess is extraordinary. I have seen her work miracles in countless lives and there is record (yes, verifiable record) of millions more. I think the real miracle of this age isn't in finding Goddess, but in realizing how common she really is. Just as common as every watch still built with a crystal movement. I'm sorry, I think it is a small miracle that a tiny quartz crystal would be willing to vibrate that regularly so that we can all keep time.

Einstein and Newton believed in the God of the Bible. They are more renowned in the field of science than Carl Sagan. In fact without these two, Physics and Calculus will not exist. Both have their own proof about God that they formulated.

But the question you asked can not be answered completely in this forum. It's like asking the story of War and Peace. There is not enough space. Even long answers gets deleted in this forum.

You have to go talk about the prophecies and documented historical events.

One answer here talks about that we should look around you. Then it becomes an evolution versus a creator question. You have to show and explain in depth that Evolutionists has millions of missing links. Study the lack of proof the simple life evolved from inorganic materials. Display the fossil evidence that there are not transitional species found after hundreds of years of looking. Understand that evolution itself is mostly faith and can not be proven scientifically.

In the first place how would you categorise a claim into ordinary or extraordinary? Is there an objective criteria or is one's ordinary claim another's extraordinary claim? In fact Carl Sagan believed in a lot of extraordinary claims but he never gave the supporting extraordinary proofs. Remember his claim that goes something like "The cosmos is all there is and ever was?" Wouldn't you think that to be an extraordinary claim?

This is the centuries-old problem of discussing religion with believers - you offer formulaic faith-based arguments as facts - there is no way to reason with such an argument because it's not based in reality. It's like me saying, well, I believe in Mohammad because it's written that he moved a mountain once - it's crazy.

I respect your right to believe whatever you want to, I just am unable to understand your reasoning. All I'm saying is if you're going to try and convince me there's an all-powerful supreme being that will slaughter millions of people for being flawed you have to produce more than a fictional text written by ancient people with an agenda.

I can't wait to hear your responses.

One poster wrote, "The concept of God cannot be intellectually verbalised."

That is about as intellectually dishonest as they come. All concepts can be verbalized and talked about, otherwise they are not human concepts. And we don't have the "concepts" of aliens to deal with. What is wrong with the concept of God is that it produces utter nonsense, which none of the believers are honest enough to admit.

Those who believe are correct in saying it is not about proofs or verification. Those that are educated know it cannot be done. What they are not clear on is that since no proofs or verifications are available they have NO WAY to separate what they call truth from what is false, absurd, or nonsense. That is the serious dilemma that faces any serious believer. And that is the serious flaw that is at the core of any belief.

I hate it when they say "oh look around you"

At what? Yeah, I see clouds and mountains, trees, grass and animals. These, however, are not proof. Only proof that there are clouds, mountains, trees, grass and animals!
But no God.

God is not something you can prove and that is why the term "believe" is used.
A belief is when you have trust in something without having any proof.

The term "I believe" is very different from "I know"

The "proof" they have to offer is not proof.
They think God speaking to them is "proof."

I say that is just proof they need to go get evaluated

There is extraordinary proof in the Vedic literature. They are confirmed by great sages in a disciplic succession from the time they where given. A.C. Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada has given all evidence. But if one does not want to believe in God there is no proof that will convince you. Krishna says in the Gita " I am the source of all remembrance and forgetfulness." IF one wants to forget Him He says "OK I'm not here." Though He as Supersoul is situated in the core of your heart. GO to http://www.stephen-knapp.com for unlimited truth. Proof? you are looking for a proof? the proof was the miracle that you were born. even science cant prove how the both cells produces and the result is human being. thats the extraordinary proof you want. you still have doubts concerning Gods miracles. read some articles of miracles and some testimonies. watch T.V like binny hinn ministries. hey , anyway whats your religion. i will ask you, do you believe in miracles? have you been in a very dangereous situation and you survive? did you encounter a problem which you cant solve? escaping in dangereous situation can be called miracle.,problems that being solve, that maybe consider as miracle.,bedridden causes of svere illnesses and been healed, thats miracles. and there were so many miracles. like the survivor in stunami tragedy, thats miracle. you will ask me why so many died in stunami incident, its the peoples fault , they already saw the big waves incoming still theyre laughing and made fun on it, without knowing the big waves will turn hurricane, instead to save themselves and run for safety, they got camera and got pictures, until they knew its very late to escape. now you blame god for this? its the people, their curiosity, negligence that kills them., the survivors on that tragedy got the miracles, thats second life, isnt it a miracles...what other proofs of miracles you want. please do some research, read articles in some magazine, religeous articles, magazines and books. if you dont believe in miracle i wont question and debate on that. its your own belief, and i do respect of what you believing in. i would like to add something, why there was tragedies, its not GODs doing, its the people who made mistakes, negligence, carelessness, greediness of power, people without concience. God gave us all the miracles we want, all the blessings, but the people abused it in many manner/

You are wrong about no verifiable records!
Do you not know about the Dead Sea Scrolls? The books of the Old Testament in the DSS are virtually identical to the Old Testament you have in your Bible.
There is an embarrassment of riches in New Testament documents, far more than any other ancient text. For example, there are only three ancient texts that mention Julius Caesar, yet you accept him as a historical figure. There are only about five copies of Homer's ILLIAD, and there are major variations between and among the ancient copies.

Romans 1:20-25 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give thanks; but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. 24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, that their bodies might be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

FAITH.
If you really want proof, go to Church of the Hills in CA. Bill Johnson is an extrodinary man who has done countless healings, some of which even science has no answer to. People's legs which were originally cut off have grown back!
