I've heard that black cats are bad luck. I have always owned black cats and they are no different than any other cat. My cat is the best friend I could have. Maybe the cat knew you were a good person that is why it followed you in hopes of finding a good home.

Actually black cats were considered to be good luck. Sailors of long ago always believed black cats on board were good luck and made sure of it before sailing.
Bad luck and black cats is a myth.

I thought having a black cat cross your path was good luck ??!!
I have two lovely black cats who follow me all the time & prescede me too (although I did wonder if they were trying to kill me a while back especially when it came to stairs ... !!!!)
All in all, no ... if a cat decides to follow you then you've done something right in their eyes ...... just try & train any colour cat to do that if they don't want to ........................

A black cat is supposed to bring good luck but I consider the company of any cat improves one's day.

I thought it was when the cat crosses your path. Somone in my family thinks its actually white cats that's bad luck, not black because something bad happened to her after!

Oh it's definitely GOOD luck. Cats are very particular about who they like and don't like. So if a cat is following you, you must be a really cool dude. Of course if it follows you all the way home you're gonna have to keep it. And then you should consider yourself exceptionally lucky because you get to share your life with a companion animal that has chosen you! :-)

i dont think its bad luck 4 a black cat to follow you , i would actually take it as a compliment that a black cat is following u (black cats r da best)

My black cat follows me from room to room all the time. Not bad luck...unless he gets under my feet at the wrong time. -.-

Really, its considered a myth by most but you can stick to whatever beleifs you want. Truly, some cultures beleive black cats to be good luck! Really, its only bad luck when you get so paranoid you dont pay attention to your own environment.
