I ask religious people this question all the time. Most of them seem to find it insulting that I would compare their belief structure to that of some ancient 'pagan' or 'heathen'. The key point is that those people were just as certain that their gods existed as people are now that their god exists. If one believes that they were wrong, then how certain can one be about one's own beliefs? Hopefully there will be no major religions in the future, and people will think for themselves for a change. Easy answers to difficult questions should not be accepted just because they are easy.

Hi. I am a pirestess of the Great Goddess, Isis. She is an ancient Goddess and has been worshipped longer than any other diety. Although there are not a great many people who worship her, this worship has been maintained now for almost 9,000 years.

Egypt, the only parthenon with a complete Set.....
must learn to resist those urges.
I'm all for them. Who's to say they are wrong and they don't exist? Personally, I find them more likely than God (capital G) god. They've been humanised, the same way God has, and now its just a matter of time.

Her name suggests the common interpretation that she was a goddess of temples and sacred groves, protecting ancient Celtic ceremonial sites held outdoors in sacred groves of trees. She is believed to continuously watch over sacred sites

I am very aware of the ones you've mentioned. And, while I have my set religious beliefs & do not worship any of the ones you mentioned, that does not mean I am ignorant of them or of the fact that they still exist in today's society.
Knowing a diety and/or it's 'speciality' can make me more effective in my religion of choice.

Something like that has already happened.
The Egyptian gods of Isis, Osiris, and Horus are simply replicas of Semiramis, Nynus (Tammuz), and Nimrod. All the gods are copies of these three people.
Adoration of mother and child began with Semiramis and Tammuz. It is incorporated in the so called Christmas (the supposed birthday of Christ -- one of the biggest lies in Commercial Christianity. Christ does not celebrate his birthday.
